Aleksandr Romanchuk, commander of operations in the southeastern part of Zaporizhia, and Lieutenant General Oleg Tsekov, commander of the Russian Navy, were reportedly injured in the attack. There are no details yet on whether they are on the list of the 34 deceased.

Both Kiev and Moscow confirmed the bombing of the naval base, but Russian authorities argued that most attempts had been neutralized.

The Ukrainian Special Operations Forces, on the other hand, said that “the headquarters (of the Russian fleet) cannot be repaired” as their mission was successful.

This is the tactic used by the Ukrainian army in Crimea, as it has become a key point in the conflict since Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022. (JO)
