Apple explains why AirPods don’t support lossless audio for everyone
Apple representatives explained the lack of high-quality sound features in their new headphones. Corporation specialists spoke about this in an interview with YouTube blogger Brian Tong.
Tong asked company managers Eric Tresca and Ron Huang why AirPods Pro didn’t support lossless audio across all devices. The blogger recalled that the lossless format will only work if you use AirPods Pro together with the Vision Pro headset.
Apple representatives responded that the limitation was due to the design features of the gadgets. There is lossless support in headphones and augmented reality headsets because both devices have an H2 chip. In this case, data transmission can be organized between them at a frequency of 5 gigahertz. According to experts, when using AirPods Pro and other gadgets, sound is transmitted at a lower frequency of 2.4 gigahertz.
The company’s managers also noted that last year’s version of the AirPods Pro 2 headphones will work with Vision Pro, but without lossless support. AirPods Pro 2 headphones with USB-C were introduced on September 12.
Earlier, Apple specialists explained to journalists from the French publication Numerama why the camera of new smartphones does not have a 10x zoom. According to them, with such a zoom function it is extremely difficult to achieve good stabilization.
