9to5Mac: iPhone 15 boxes are now marked with invisible authenticity marks
Invisible marks were found on packaging with iPhone 15 series smartphones, guaranteeing the authenticity of the devices. This was reported by 9to5Mac.
The signs, visible only when exposed to ultraviolet light, were discovered by the first buyers of new Apple smartphones. On the tear-off label they found the inscription “iPhone 15”, below on the box there was a hologram and a QR code. According to media journalists, Apple began marking products with signs to confirm their authenticity and protect customers from purchasing counterfeits.
According to 9to5Mac, Apple kept this innovation a secret to prevent scammers from counterfeiting holograms. The authors noted that very often, attackers sell used or refurbished iPhones under the guise of new phones.
Earlier, RBC’s interlocutors reported that sales of the new iPhone 15 line in Russia will start on September 22, simultaneously with the world ones. Representatives of retailers and mobile operators noted that the devices are imported into the country through parallel imports.
