It is no secret that almost every website, social networking site or shopping platform collects a lot of data about Internet users visiting them. Thanks to this, it can primarily propose more effective, personalized advertisements.
Google wants to fight tracking? Chrome will get an extraordinary package of features
Apparently, Google (which itself bases its business on advertising) has decided to do something about this fact. Like , a completely new section is to appear in the Chrome browser, which will collect all the functions that prevent us from being tracked on the Internet in one place. The tab is to be named Tracking Protection and has already been noticed in an early version of the Chrome browser.
The new card will allow the user to choose their own level of protection depending on their needs. It will appear, among others: standard mode (no protection), custom mode (with self-selected security level) and a Do Not Track button. The Tracking Protection tab will include several different tracking blocking tools, the operation of which is not yet known.
All we know is that one of the new features will be blocking cookies collected by third parties, i.e. entities that are not the administrators of the website we are currently browsing. According to experts, files collected in this way pose a threat to privacy because they enable tracking of all traffic on the Internet (and not only on a given website).
The changes are expected to come to Chrome in the unspecified future. They will be available in browser versions for Windows, macOS and Android. Windows Latest also writes that Google is already working on a new incognito mode, which is to offer a greater degree of privacy. However, we do not know the details yet.
