HP has released a hybrid laptop with a flexible 17-inch OLED display
HP has announced the Specter hybrid laptop with a foldable display. Uberizmo reports this.
The device has a 17-inch flexible OLED display that folds in half. The manufacturer provides the possibility of placing a physical keyboard on one of the halves of the case, due to which the screen diagonal of the device is reduced to 12.3 inches.
HP noted that the laptop can be used as a tablet or external monitor with a resolution of 2560×1920 pixels. The weight of the HP Specter with the keyboard is 1.62 kilograms, without it – 1.35 kilograms.
The model is based on a ten-core Intel Core i7-1250U processor, part of the Alder Lake family. The device has 16 gigabytes of LPDDR5 RAM, a 1 terabyte NVMe SSD drive, and an Intel Iris XE graphics accelerator. The computer also received two Thunderbolt 4 connectors with support for USB Type-C, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
The cost of HP Specter is $4,999, or about 475 thousand rubles. According to journalists, the high price of the laptop is explained by its unique design and expensive flexible matrix, the likes of which are still rarely used in computers.
In September, sources told DigiTimes that Apple would introduce a new affordable laptop computer in 2024. The laptop will have a simplified body and will cost less than $1,000, or about 95 thousand rubles.
