What happened to the child who was run over?
The event took place at 7:55 a.m. that day on Sallie Jeffreys Way, in Corona, a city in Riverside County, California, United States.
There, 42-year-old Melissa Damron is accused of allowing her six-year-old son to be punished. The minor tried to get into the moving car and that painfully cost him his life.
According to what was reported in Caraota Digital, which includes the police officers’ version, Melissa Damron “left her son Duner Larson out of the car before leaving.”
Considering the situation, the minor began to chase the vehicle and even tried to open the door, “while the mother refused to stop.”
At a bad moment, “the little boy tripped and fell on the sidewalk, so the vehicle overtook him.”

Negligence?
Police added that the woman knew her son was in a risky situation and did not stop the car.
The authority explained it this way: “The evidence showed that Melissa knew Duner was close enough to the vehicle to pose a hazard and driven with gross negligencewhich caused the death of his son.”
Caraota Digital reported that the mother last Thursday, September 7, ‘for vehicular manslaughter and endangering a child, resulting in death.”
However, the next day ABC 7 reported that Damron bail of $50,000 posted.
Drugs or alcohol did not appear to be a factor for police, KABC-TV and Boston 25 News reported. The reason for the child’s punishment is unknown.
In The Press-Enterprise, they reported that “court records show it was not the first time Corona police accused Damron of neglecting one of her children.”
