HMD Global will produce smartphones under its own brand
HMD Global intends to start producing smartphones under its own brand – along with Nokia devices. This was reported by GSM Arena.
Media journalists drew attention to the publication on LinkedIn of the head of the company, Jean-François Baril. In it, the top manager said that the company will expand its portfolio with smartphones under the HMD brand. The head of the company also clarified that HMD devices will be produced in parallel with Nokia devices.
HMD Global has the rights to the famous brand and has been producing Nokia phones and smartphones for about six years. Jean-François Baril noted that thanks to Nokia, the company has strengthened and is now ready to start producing devices under a new brand.
Also, a top manager at HMD Global said that his company is “the fastest growing 5G smartphone manufacturer year after year.” Jean-François Baril emphasized that HMD devices will be focused on “solving consumer needs.” The head of the company did not disclose the release date and cost of gadgets under the new brand.
At the end of February, HMD Global, which owns the rights to the Nokia phone brand, introduced the G22 smartphone designer. The device has a modular design, designed for simplified repairs at home.
