Mexican authorities announced early Monday that they had managed to identify a bus carrying migrants whose immigration status would not be regularized.
The National Migration Institute (INM) indicated that 178 foreign migrants traveling by private bus were rescued at the Las Choapas (Veracruz) toll booth, of which 111 were from Guatemala and Honduras. Together they formed 43 family units.
Also traveling within the group were six unaccompanied Guatemalan minors, as well as 50 women and men from that country.
Nine Ecuadorians were also on the list, as well as a Dominican and a Salvadoran.

The driver of the car was ordered to be arrested and when interviewing the passengers they said they were foreigners and had no immigration documents. Minors and family groups in Guatemala were left to the care of the local system for the comprehensive development of the family.
However, for adults, an administrative process was initiated to determine their legal status. While the driver, two companions and the bus were made available to the Public Prosecution Service. (JO)
