The Generalitat of Catalonia has activated a telephone information point to respond to emergencies Catalans affected or who have relatives in Morocco and they want to know data about the damage caused by the recorded earthquake last night and that has left at least 632 people dead and 329 injured.

The Generalitat has enabled a telephone (with WhatsApp) to attend to emergencies from Catalonia (0034 674744902) and another Moroccan telephone number (00212 648682896), services coordinated by the Government delegation in North Africa.

The Catalan government, which asks to prioritize the use of these telephones for the “most urgent” casesis monitoring the consequences of the earthquake and remains in contact with the relevant authorities to collect information on the victims and damage, as reported by the Department of Foreign Action and the European Union in a statement.

The Ministry points out that any affected person can contact the Generalitat, also through its delegation in North Africa, and recommends in these first hours to follow the instructions of the Moroccan authorities and emergency teams.

“The Government delegate in North Africa and the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation are on the ground, at the disposal of those affected and the help that the Moroccan authorities require in the coming days,” the statement added.
