Future is now. We used to call it “the profession of the future”, now such offers are flooding the labor market

Will artificial intelligence take our jobs? Yes and no. In fact, every fourth employee may be replaced by artificial intelligence in the coming years. New professions will be created, or actually are already being created, based on artificial intelligence. There are already several offers on the Internet for positions of “jobs of the future”.

– Regardless of the industry, the employment market is undergoing a significant transformation. We see this, among other things, thanks to the offers published on our website, which increasingly concern professions that were not available on the employment market until recently – says Izabela Foltyn from Aplikuj.pl. Many of them are related to development. No wonder, according to Goldman Sachs analysts, in the coming years 25 percent. professions in Europe will be replaced by artificial intelligence. And as analysts argue, it may be good for global economies.

Artificial intelligence is changing the labor market

Artificial intelligence can increase global growth by 7%. and increase productivity by 1.5%. in the next 10 years. fcompanies already feel this and are investing in AI. Globally, the value of private investment in 2022 was PLN 91.9 billion. Over the last decade, this has increased by as much as 18 times. Naturally, the number of jobs related to artificial intelligence is also increasing. In the United States, offers for AI specialists increased from 1.7 percent. in 2021 to 1.9 percent in 2022. According to the Linkedin Future of Work Report – AI at Work in the USA the number of people in management positions related to AI has increased threefold in the last 5 years. However, trends of this type can be seen all over the world. A few years ago, the value of investment in AI in Poland was approximately PLN 11 million, and this market is still developing.

Artificial intelligence is simply becoming more and more useful. – Tools based on AI algorithms already automate many processes in companies, make it easier to perform tasks, increase work efficiency and minimize the risk of errors, and even help in recruitment processes – explains Magdalena Trojak, Aplikuj.pl. Man has his limits. It can simply count, analyze and process huge amounts of data faster, which can make it easier to perform, for example, repetitive mechanical tasks in companies. Trojak notes, however, that when artificial intelligence began to be used in recruitment processes, it had “various effects.” This is why artificial intelligence must be subject to human control, and this opens the possibility of developing professions that could not even be imagined before.

New professions are emerging, and those who keep up with them can gain a lot

– Job offers related to AI are increasingly appearing on our platform. And although this is not an escalating trend yet, it will undoubtedly become more important year by year. Companies are already looking for, for example, AI specialists who create systems based on machine learning algorithms. People in this position implement modern solutions for clients, and are also responsible for constantly updating and optimizing systems in terms of their performance – says Foltyn. To find a job in such a position, you need to know, among others: on neural networks or programming languages. However, it is worth taking an interest in such a “profession of the future”. Almost everyone is looking for it: from medium-sized entrepreneurs, through global companies to scientific and even government institutions. And they can pay a lot. Earnings start from several thousand and can reach up to several dozen thousand per month.

Among the existing “jobs of the future”, Aplikuj.pl analysts also note such positions as: Head of AI, AI Specialist and Machine Learning Enginee, i.e. a machine learning engineer dealing with the design and implementation of machine learning systems. So far, these were professions closely related to the technology industry, but now we can see them in the offers of companies such as Amazon, Visa or – Specialists involved in natural language processing, the so-called NLP Engineer. They deal with neuro-linguistic programming and allow machines to understand text and speech, which is already happening. Just look at the development of virtual voice assistants, applications for language translation and chatbots, which increasingly support customer service – adds Magdalena Trojak from Aplikuj.pl.

What about employees whose jobs AI might take?

For now, however, we are talking about it as a curiosity. – Polish employees do not yet experience significant changes resulting from the development of AI. However, in a few years the situation may be slightly different. Artificial intelligence may actually turn out to be a real “game changer” for . And employees who quickly understand this and acquire competences that are important in the future, such as innovative and analytical thinking, or the ability to use new technologies and design them, will be sought after by potential employers – comments Izabela Foltyn.

These are not yet as popular professions as cashiers, telemarketers, receptionists, accountants or office workers, often alongside soft skills. By the way, these are some of the professions most at risk from the development of artificial intelligence. However, according to Aplikuj.pl experts, they should not worry about their future. – In addition to soft skills, they often have analytical sense and mathematical skills that can also be useful in other professions that will not be threatened in the future by the development of AI – Foltyn reassures.
