The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) invites young innovators, students between the first and third cycle of studies, to participate in a design competition, which aims to present and promote the works and innovative and sustainable design proposals of young talents.
The activity, called the International Innovation Design Award for Future Designers – IIDA and the Science Innovation Competition for the Sustainable Development Goals – SDGs, is part of the Unesco-Unitrain project on youth skills development (Unesco-YCD project ).
Similarly, it is one of UNESCO’s efforts to strengthen capabilities in basic sciences and engineering.
Another aim of this competition is to support and raise awareness about the importance of science in achieving the SDGs and how it contributes to the development of more resilient and egalitarian societies.
This is indicated by the Ministry of Culture and Heritage of Ecuador Applications will be received until September 30, 2023.
The applications are assessed by an international jury, consisting of professors and industry experts. The winners will be announced on October 31, 2023, while the awards ceremony will take place at the end of the year. (JO)
