In the midst of a town hall meeting on the Upper West Side last Wednesday, New York City Mayor Eric Adams lashed out at the migration facing the metropolis.

During his speech, Adams pointed out that he has a problem he has never faced before and that he sees no end to it.

“I don’t see an end to this. This problem will destroy New York City. It will destroy New York City,” he said.

Hundreds of migrants are still waiting for housing and the chance to work in New York

The mayor explained that they are facing an influx of 10,000 immigrants per month and the deficit they are facing is $12 billion.

“First we received messages from Venezuela, now they are coming from Ecuador, now they are coming from Russia via Mexico, now they are coming from West Africa. As we receive people from all over the world, they have decided that they will come to New York City through the southern part of the border,” he said.

He points out that the cutbacks will affect services.

“It will reach their neighborhoods. We will all be affected by this. I said it last year when we had 15,000. I’m telling you now with 110,000. The city we knew we would lose. And we are all in this together,” he added.

The official accused Texas Governor Greg Abbott of provoking the situation by moving migrants into areas called sanctuaries. (JO)
