Sony always gets it right with its portable speakers and if you want to be the master of the party, you’ve got to have this XG 300 that we’re going to talk about today at Doctor Tecno.
The XG 300 is a portable speaker that weighs about 3 kg and looks rather strange. At first glance, what attracts the most attention in the design are the dimensions and the materials used in the construction.
It has a retractable top handle that folds out when you’re using it and stays neatly alongside the speaker when you’re not using it. It has two passive radiators that boost the bass and a decorative RGB LED lighting system.
The entire cylindrical body of the loudspeaker is covered with an acoustic fabric so that it does not interfere with the sound quality. The model we were able to test is black, but is also available in light gray with dark marble.
The non-circular shape maximizes the driver area to increase sound pressure for powerful bass, while reducing driver excursion and maintaining the same sound pressure, resulting in less distortion.
Connectivity is one of the most outstanding features. On Android devices, it’s very simple, as it has Fast Pair support and when the phone detects it, it pops up a notification to connect both devices. The Sony XG 300 can also seamlessly connect to Mac and PC computers.
It features the Party Connect option, which allows you to combine up to 100 wireless speakers that are compatible with the technology bluetooth and sync the music. In addition, the Stereo Pair function allows you to connect two speakers wirelessly for a wider stereo sound. Both functions are activated in the Sony Music Center application.
The integrated omnidirectional microphone enables conversations with good sound quality, thanks to an echo cancellation system that minimizes ambient noise.
Another strong point of this speaker is its autonomy. Sony has made good use of the size of the Sony XG 300 by integrating a high-capacity battery that, according to the brand, is capable of keeping the party going for 25 hours. Fast charging provides 70 minutes of playback time with just 10 minutes of charging. It will be fully charged in about 5 hours with the charger that comes in the box.
In a real use environment, play audio outdoors through bluetooth at an average volume of 40%, with the Mega Bass system active and RGB lighting on, the speaker can last about six and a half hours.
Thanks to the IP67 protection index, you can take the speaker to the beach or the swimming pool and it will continue to play, no matter how dusty the surface is. It is resistant to water, even salt.(JO)
