Last year, Apple positively surprised iPhone users. The company has not decided to raise the prices of new devices. Of course, we are talking about the American market, because in Poland we pay much more for the iPhone 14 than for its predecessor – and this is mainly due to the significant weakening of the Polish currency against the US dollar.
This year, however, price increases are inevitable, although they are to concern the most expensive variants of the iPhone 15. At the end of July, Barclays analyst Tim Long, based on data from suppliers, will increase by about $100, while for iPhone 15 Pro Max/Ultra it can be as much as $200.
iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max $200 more expensive? We know the reason
Now, another industry analyst, Luke Lin, shared similar information on DigiTimes Asia. In his opinion, the Pro and Pro Max models will face a “serious price increase”, although he did not share specific numbers. Instead, he pointed to the reasons why Apple may increase the prices of these devices.
The first of them is the use of a new one in both variants titanium frames surrounding the housing of the device, which is to replace the one made of stainless steel. The second reason (only applies to the iPhone 15 Pro Max) is new periscope camera module.
Interestingly, according to Lin, the increase will not apply to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. These devices are to be sold at exactly the same prices as the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.
At the same time, Luke Lin announced that Apple has reduced the production of the standard iPhone 15 and the Plus version (compared to the same models from last year), which clearly indicates that the Pro models are to be the driving force behind sales.
iPhone 15 price in Poland. Weaker dollar hope?
If analysts’ forecasts come true, the iPhone 15 price list will be as follows:
- iPhone 15: $799 (unchanged);
- iPhone 15 Plus: $899 (unchanged);
- iPhone 15 Pro: up to $1,099 (up ~$100);
- iPhone 15 Pro Max/Ultra: Up to $1,299 (up ~$200).
Currently, it is difficult to precisely determine how this will translate into iPhone prices in Poland, as customs duties, VAT and the USD exchange rate must also be taken into account. However, it can be safely assumed that at such prices in Poland for the iPhone 15 Pro we will pay over PLN 7,000, and for the cheapest iPhone 15 Pro Max model – even around PLN 8,500. To say it’s expensive is basically saying nothing.
The exchange rate of the dollar may be a certain hope for us. At the end of September last year we paid almost PLN 5 for the American currency, currently the dollar is much closer to PLN 4 (on Wednesday morning it was valued at PLN 4.16).
