9to5Mac: Apple will become the new leader in the smartphone market with the iPhone 15
TrendForce analysts predicted the leadership of the American company Apple in the global smartphone market thanks to the brand’s new devices. This is reported by the publication 9to5Mac.
Journalists studied the report of the agency, the authors of which noted that in the second quarter of 2023, Apple delivered 42 million units of smartphones to the market – compared to the first quarter, the decline was 21.2 percent. Current market leader Samsung shipped 53.9 million units, down 12.4 percent. At the same time, experts saw good prospects for Tim Cook’s corporation to become an industry leader.
The material says that Apple’s shipments traditionally sag in the second quarter of the year. This is due to the fact that the company is launching the development and production of a new series of iPhones. “If the iPhone 15 line of devices exceeds market expectations, Apple has a good chance of displacing Samsung from its long-standing position as the global market leader,” TrendForce authors emphasized.

The analysts’ conclusions do not contradict the IDC report, the authors of which previously stated that the share of iOS devices will grow in 2023 by 1.1 percent, reaching a record high of 19.9 percent. At the same time, the share of Android devices will decrease by 6 percent.
Journalists also noticed that TrendForce and IDC agree that the smartphone market is falling. “Demand in consumer markets such as China, Europe and North America did not show a significant recovery in the second half of the year,” TrendForce analysts said. IDC said that 2023 will see the lowest level of smartphone shipments in a decade.
At the end of August, Omdia experts concluded that Apple and Samsung devices occupied the entire top 10 most popular smartphones in the first half of 2023. The flagship Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max was named the market leader, which sold 26.5 million copies.
