Cybercriminals are again sending SMS messages to Poles with information about alleged problems with the delivery of the package. Cyber ​​threat experts warn – this is another scam. The goal of criminals is to steal money from our accounts.

Phishing is an old but very effective method of fraud. It consists in impersonating a known and trusted company or institution in order to extort valuable information or money. This time, the scammers aim at both, because in this way, cybercriminals try to get our payment card numbers.

They cheat Poles with fake text messages. These are not InPost messages

Against fraudsters, the CERT Polska team, which detected another attempt to use the image of InPost. Cybercriminals send mass text messages with information about problems with the delivery of the alleged shipment caused by entering the wrong address. The message always contains a link that leads to a crafted website resembling the InPost website.

On it, potential victims are asked to enter a payment card number in order to supposedly confirm the data in this way. The goal of criminals, of course, is to obtain card details, thanks to which they will then be able to wipe out your bank account or credit card.

This is another recent perfidious attempt at fraud using the image of a shipping company or trading platform. allegedly selling undelivered parcels. The CERT team of this state-owned company warned against a phishing attack, adding that Poczta Polska does not carry out such activities.

Criminals pose as administrators of auction platforms or bank employees and call people selling there to “help” with the transaction. In reality, however, they try to extort BLIK codes and withdraw money from the victim’s ATM.
