The company admitted in a post that there had been a “strong, prolonged and complex” DDoS (denial of service) attack. This is an attack that overloads a system or network service with a huge number of queries or data so as to cause a failure and prevent the normal operation of the infrastructure.
The attack causes “periodic disruptions in the proper functioning of access services” for some customers. The operator declares that he makes every effort to repel the attack and restore the normal operation of the services. He also points out that the relevant services and institutions have already been informed about the incident.

Customers complain about problems with access to the Internet in the comments on Facebook. As some write, they occur both with access to the Internet and television. Others claim that this is yet another Netia failure in recent weeks or months. They also accuse the company of admitting to the attack four days after the first irregularities occurred and failing to inform about this fact when trying to connect to the hotline.
Problems in the operation of Netia’s services can also be seen on the chart on the downdetector.pl website. There have been thousands of crash reports in the last 24 hours. By far the largest number of applications appeared on the night of 4/5 September. Only on Tuesday half an hour after midnight, slightly more than a thousand applications were received. The operator’s website is operating normally at the time of publication of this text.
