P4 announced its intention to take over UPC Polska in September 2021, but the transaction was formally finalized in April 2022. Now Play has announced the completion of the last stage of the integration of both brands that has been carried out since then.
UPC Polska is now Play. What does this mean for customers?
From August 31. UPC Polska will operate on the market under the name Play. According to the second operator, this is a consequence of the now completed legal merger of P4 and UPC Polska, which has just been finalized with the relevant entry in the National Court Register. Thus, the UPC Polska brand ends its life after 23 years of operation.
What does this mean for customers? Fortunately, the changes will not be a nuisance. Play informs that the contracts of UPC Polska customers remain unchanged and they will be able to use all services exactly as before. The duration of the contracts, the amount of fees and the details of the bank account needed to settle the payment also remain unchanged.
With the entry into the National Court Register, UPC Polska formally becomes part of P4, which took over all rights and obligations of UPC Polska. This means that the current customers of UPC Polska can still conveniently use their services under the existing conditions. Both the duration of the contracts, the amount of fees and bank account details for making payments remain unchanged
– writes the Play press office.
However, all matters of UPC Polska customers will now be handled directly by Play. This process began a few months ago, when the P4 operator decided to gradually close UPC stores in Poland. The upc.pl website is still operational, but the operator informs that from September 1, answers to the most frequently asked questions will have to be found on play.pl. Most likely, from Friday, the operator’s website will redirect to the Play network website.
Earlier this week, Play informed that at the end of August, MichaĆ Fura, the former spokesperson for UPC Polska and head of Play’s corporate communications, is leaving the company. Fura went to Play when the operator took over UPC Polska.
