On September 12, the autumn Apple Special Event conference will take place, where the company from Cupertino will show its hardware novelties. The star of the evening will of course be the iPhone 15, or rather, four iPhones 15, because – as in recent years – the manufacturer wants to launch four models of its flagship device.
One of the most important novelties in the iPhone 15 is to change the charging standard from Apple’s Lightning to USB-C present in Apple’s competitors. This is the result of the decision of the European Parliament, which requires that all smartphones sold in the EU from autumn 2024 be equipped with a USB type C connector.
Theoretically, Apple could wait another year with the transition to USB-C and introduce this change with the premiere of the iPhone 16. The Cupertino company, however, does not want to wait. All signs in the sky and earth indicate that the iPhone 15 will be the first Apple smartphone with a USB-C port.
Not only iPhone 15. New AirPods also with USB-C?
a Bloomberg journalist at Apple’s September conference will present a refreshed version of the AirPods headphones, which will also will be equipped with the USB-C standard. So far, we don’t know if the Cupertino company will just throw its headphones into the new USB-C case, or if the AirPods themselves will also see some significant changes.
The question of whether the planned change applies also remains open standard only AirPods modelor a USB-C case will also appear for the AirPods Pro variant.
, already announced the appearance of AirPods with a new charging connector last year. At the same time, he suggested that we would only be dealing here with a slight refreshment of the series, and the new generation of AirPods will go on sale only at the turn of 2024 and 2025.
iPhone 15 on September 12. Apple is sending invitations
“Wonderlust” – this is the slogan advertised at the September Apple conference. The company has just sent invitations to the fall Apple Special Event to selected journalists. The premiere of new iPhones usually takes place in the fall – on the second Tuesday in September. This year is no different – iPhone 15 will be presented on September 12 at 19.00 Polish time.
