Tenders for the purchase of computers have been conducted throughout the summer and have already ended or are about to end. The Ministry of Digitization informed a few days ago that contracts for the supply of exactly 290,064 laptops have already been signed, for which tender procedures have come to an end. As the ministry wrote, students will receive them in September.
This means that in the first month of school, about 70% of students will receive laptops. eligible children. Others will have to be patient. How long? This will depend on the end date of the tenders. MC anticipates that all tenders should be completed in the first half of September. As he reminds, the law on free laptops includes a provision that computers will be delivered to students on December 31 at the latest, and this may mean that some fourth graders will receive a laptop only around Christmas.
However, if there are no delays, the remaining 30 percent. children should receive their computer between the second half of September and the end of October. As the head of the Ministry of Digitization, Janusz Cieszyński, recently announced, each supplier has 40 days to deliver the equipment – the politician, however, predicts that in some cases “the time may be shorter”.
Students – depending on the region of residence – will receive three different models of laptops – HP ProBook 440 G9, Dell Latitude 3540 or Acer TravelMate P2 TMP215-54. Their value is to range between PLN 2,872.05 and PLN 2,950.77, but the performance and capabilities of the equipment will be almost identical.
