“Biopolymers leave behind permanent and incurable problems”
Unlike prostheses, they explain on Radio Nacional de Colombia, “unencapsulated biopolymers are injected and expand in the body. They contain synthetic substances such as paraffin and liquid silicone. Its use can cause health complications or lead to the death of the patient.
One patient, París Gallego, told Noticias Caracol: “I didn’t expect to have them (biopolymers) in my body. This isn’t easy, it’s brave, but here we are now with the best attitude to try and get out of this quickly.”
Biopolymers in my life have been total chaos.

There’s still work to be done: Dr. Fernanda Hernández indicated that the Ministry of Health has “three months to publish a list of the professionals and institutions authorized to perform these procedures.”
