USCIS is launching an online form for requesting in-person appointments at its offices in the United States

From the United States, they report that requesting an appointment for their local office in person without having to call the USCIS Contact Center is possible after the same United States Citizenship and Immigration Service launched a new online form for people, attorneys, and accredited representatives.

Individuals “may request a specific date and time for an in-person appointment, but USCIS cannot guarantee that the requested appointment date will be scheduled.”

USCIS will confirm and schedule the applicant’s appointment for an available date and time for an in-person appointment.

What the online appointment request form allows

This online appointment request form, the website explains, only allows interested parties or legal representatives to request an appointment in person at a local office, for ADIT stamps, emergency prior travel clearance, permits from immigration judges, and more.

This is not a self-scheduling tool and individuals cannot schedule their own appointments with USCIS.

Of course, “the USCIS Contact Center will review the forms submitted and the availability of in-person appointments at a specific local office.”

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services reports that the online appointment request form is expected to “improve the customer experience by gathering the required information in advance and potentially scheduling the requested appointment without further communication with the USCIS Contact Center.”

Please note that the Contact Center may need to contact an individual by phone or email, depending on the reason for the appointment and the urgency, using the reference number provided to them at the time of the request.
