9to5Mac: Apple Stops Making Leather Cases for iPhone 15
Apple has stopped releasing leather cases for a new line of smartphones. This is reported by the publication 9to5Mac.
Media journalists noted that the company usually introduces a new version of leather cases after each release of the iPhone. Sources told 9to5Mac that this year Apple will leave new smartphones without the usual accessories.
Experts suggested that the decision is related to environmental protection, since the skin has a relatively high carbon footprint. Also, device owners were forced to purchase cases for each new iPhone, as they only fit certain models.
According to insiders, it follows that Apple has abandoned the skin in cases, as it is preparing to introduce a new premium material. Among others, such a material is called vinyl-based synthetic leather, which is used for upholstery of seats in premium cars. In conclusion, the journalists noted that leather cases are a high-margin product – the cost of such accessories reaches $129, or about 12,000 rubles.
Earlier, specialists from the online school in the field of game development XYZ School and the online school of design and technology Bang Bang Education said that Russian designers did not appreciate the design of the new iPhone 15. New devices could not interest specialists – only 19 percent of study participants are waiting for their release.
