9to5Mac: iPhone 15 production cut due to low demand

Apple will release fewer iPhone 15 series smartphones than iPhone 14 devices, according to 9to5Mac.

Portal journalists referred to a report by Haitong Intl Tech Research analyst Jeff Pu, who said that by the end of the year, the American IT giant will release 77 million units of iPhone 15 devices. Previously, Apple planned to supply at least 83 million copies. Thus, the corporation will be forced to reduce the production of smartphones.

Pu noted that the company will reduce the release of devices due to reduced demand, including because the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max devices will be more expensive than premium devices in 2022. This is due to the use of new processors, cameras and other expensive components.

Apple also fears that the company will not have enough components from suppliers. It is expected that Sony sensors, titanium frames and new front panels will be in short supply. “The reduction of the supply plan before the launch of the series is not a positive signal,” the specialist summed up.

In mid-July, journalists from MacRumors listed the main features of Apple’s future flagship smartphones. Premium devices will have to receive a USB-C port, a titanium frame, an A17 Bionic processor, created using a three-nanometer process technology.
