Russia has created a system to search for wounded soldiers using beacons

NTI: Russia has developed a system using beacons to search for the wounded in battle

In Russia, they developed a search system for soldiers wounded on the battlefield using a beacon. It was presented at the Archipelago 2023 design and educational intensive, the press service of the National Technology Initiative (NTI) said, RIA Novosti reports.

“This system can be used in the civilian sphere to search for lost UAVs,” the NTI added. In this case, the functions of the system will be hidden from enemy observation, since the beacons recognize the signals of the search device via the internal radio channel.

The search for soldiers is carried out using a device with an antenna; under fire, a search can be organized using a drone, attaching a device repeater and a beacon to it that tracks the drone itself.

The NTI press service clarified that the system has already been tested in a wooded area and is preparing for testing at the test site.

Earlier, Rostec announced a demonstration of a new version of the Rat mobile complex for combating drones, which received a 30-millimeter caliber gun capable of using projectiles with remote detonation. The difference of the updated version of the complex was the presence of a gun with a system of remote detonation of shells.
