Expert Magomedov called dangerous smartphone requests when installing the application

During the installation of any application, a smartphone user is often asked for permission to record audio, track geolocation. Shamil Magomedov, Head of the Department of Intelligent Information Security Systems of the Institute of Cybersecurity and Digital Technologies of the RTU MIREA, spoke about dangerous system requests in an interview with the Prime agency.

“You should be especially careful with applications from unknown developers,” the expert noted.

According to him, in case of any doubts and suspicions, you need to play it safe and choose an analogue of an application with a proven reputation. Magomedov also reminded that the user has the opportunity to refuse requests, but this can lead to incorrect operation of the application. For example, a taxi aggregator will not be able to provide a service to a client if geolocation is disabled on their gadget.

The expert advised checking installed applications and removing unnecessary ones. They can even use the phone’s resources and data in the background, Shamil Magomedov summed up.

Earlier, the specialist said that the use of wireless headphones at a volume above the recommended levels is a scientifically proven danger. According to Magomedov, there are several points of view regarding the safety of headphones, and quite contradictory ones.
