9to5Mac: iPhone 15 Pro will come with a six-core processor and 6 gigabytes of memory
An insider revealed the characteristics of the processor of the new flagship Apple smartphones. This is reported by the publication 9to5Mac.
Journalists referred to a well-known insider under the nickname Unknownz21, who toldthat the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max will have a new generation A17 Bionic processor. The chip will be created using a three-nanometer process technology by TSMC.
The specialist found out that the six-core chip will also receive a six-core graphics processor. In comparison, the current A16 Bionic chip has a five-core GPU. A17 Bionic will support up to 6 gigabytes of RAM – thus, the insider did not confirm the information that the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max will receive a record 8 gigabytes of RAM.
Unknownz21 said he expects a 10-15 percent increase in performance from the new chip. Also, energy consumption should be reduced by 30 percent. The author explained that since the A17 is expensive to manufacture, the launch models of the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will be equipped with the more affordable A16 Bionic chip.
In early August, it became known that Apple’s fall event would take place on September 13th. The presentation will be recorded on video.
