Two criminals on a motorcycle attacked an 11-year-old girl on Wednesday whose backpack was stolen while she was on her way to school. It happened at 7:30 am in Lanús, a city in the province of Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina.
According to initial police reports, at least seven people have been arrested, including a 14-year-old teenager. Six other suspects from the same gang were also arrested.
As she tried to reach the No. 60 Almafuerte Educational Center, two criminals aboard a motorcycle surrounded her to steal her backpack, according to Infobae. In the attack, the little girl received a blow to the head and was left lying on the ground. Other witnesses stated that they had even dragged her along during the robbery.
The two occupants of the vehicle pulled on her belongings and threw her to the ground. One of them got out and grabbed the girl’s things. Then he got back on the bike to escape at high speed.
The case is not only set in motion because of the robbery, but also because of the attack on the girl whose criminals, after snatching her phone, drop her and strike hard. A security camera captured the crime and shows when two men on a motorcycle surround her and beat her.
Parents who were outside the school explain that although an ambulance was requested, it was slow to arrive. The girl was taken to Evita Hospital and died at 9:20 a.m. due to cardiac arrest as a result of the injuries he sustained, according to journalistic reports.
According to Infobae, the hospital’s medical director, Javier Maroni, explained that the girl arrived unconscious and with many injuries. He explained that the death is the product of a serious head injury, “something to be confirmed by autopsy”.
At the time when one of the suspects in the girl’s crime was arrested, he threatened several police officers saying, “I’m going to kill everyone.”
