The population in Córdoba, a province of Spain, continues to decline. The numbers would be more worrying if migration did not help stabilize the numbers.
The province “closed July 2023 with 772,431 people, 846 less than three months ago and 1,670 less than a year ago,” Diario Córdoba reports.
The balance in Córdoba is negative, the newspaper reports on its website, “but it could have been blamed more if it weren’t for immigration, which allowed 2,326 foreigners to be taken in between July 2022 and July 2023.”
In general, the figures of Tuesday, August 7, 2023 by the National Institute of Statistics indicate that “Spain reached a population record of more than 48 million inhabitants”.
The increase is due, reports the EFE news agency, “to the increase in immigrants from countries such as Colombia and Venezuela”.
Why don’t some babies born in Spain get Spanish nationality?
