A claim in a classroom seriously injured a teacher. The teacher had a large bruise on her face, below her left eye, and made the complaint through a video posted on TikTok.
The teacher identified herself as Dalia, a provisional teacher from Bogotá, who revealed what happened on July 19, 2023 at a Fontibón school.
The material published on networks caused general rejection and brought sincere words of solidarity to the teacher.

What happened to the teacher in the classroom
“This bruise you see on my face was caused this morning by an 11th grade student after telling her several times to put her cell phone away or she would have the option of leaving my class.
She didn’t want to do either (options) and when she was already very rude I told her ‘please you leave my class’. He didn’t want to.
I take the cell phone in my hands and she rushes at me in a violent way, cornering me, shoving me, starting to frisk me desperately. I invite the students to have someone film (record) what is happening. I told him, ‘You can’t touch me’.
I tried to catch up on class and she tells me she’s going to charge me for theft. She rolls up her hair and sleeves and I see she’s ready for anything and closes the room.
Other students tell me, “It’s that you should give her cell phone back because she’s right.”
I grab my bag, my things. And I tell them, ‘This is Colombia, guys. Don’t worry, I’m leaving and she grabs me by the door, won’t let me out and attacks me with a strong fist, with rings, in the face. I take her with me, I see that no one is doing anything and when I ask for help, the male students held her”.
But: “I want to leave the room again and two other students stop me. They tell me to hand over my mobile phone and I’m not going anywhere.”
The teacher Dalia said with sadness and pain that she didn’t think it would be released on TikTok that way, but that she did it to encourage reflection.
@telemededellin #DigitalTM | A teacher complained via social networks that she had been attacked by a student who apparently did not want to pay attention in class because she was using her mobile phone. In the video, the teacher, referred to as Dalia, said that on several occasions she asked an 11th grade student to watch her class, or in that case leave the classroom, but the student did not drop the cell phone or leave the premises. According to the teacher’s account, when she saw that the student was not paying attention, she confiscated her mobile phone, for which the student jumped and attacked her. In the story, Dalia points out that she asked her students to record the attack, to which the other students were indifferent. The teacher continued with the lesson, but at one point, the student locked the classroom door and, as the other students watched, began to beat her. #Noticias #News #BreakingNews #NoticiasMedellín #NoticiasAntioquia #NoticiasColombia #Tendencias #Actualidad #Maltrato #Profesora #Docente #estudiantes

Rejection in social networks
According to El Heraldo, “Bogotá’s education minister sent a message denouncing the violent action” and announced follow-up to the case.
What happened opens up the debate on networks about whether or not cell phones should be brought to school.
One mom, Linda O., said via Instagram, “What a shame now teens don’t respect their teachers. As parents we have to instill respect for teachers and one of them is respect when the teacher is teaching the class.”
“Let those students go, my girl has had panic attacks”: mother denounces her daughter’s stalkers pretend to vomit when they see her at school
Olga Cardona commented, “Schools are for studying, not keeping an eye on the phone.”
Rossy Rubiano believes that “he goes to school to study and not to check his cell phone. If the girl does not want to study, it is better that she stays at home and looks at her cell phone.”
To the comment of a woman who doubts that the teacher “grabbed the mobile phone with her hands” because she definitely “took it away”, they reply that Dalia told in the video that she asked her several times to leave it or leave the room.
“What else should the teacher ask the student?” asks Mónica Manotas.
Education and respect, users remind, are born at home. Maritza Andrade opined: “I imagine how he will treat the mother…that they expel her. And they should ban mobile phones in schools, which is why they don’t perform in class.”
