The Elec: Apple will release a 20.5-inch foldable MacBook in 2025

Samsung indirectly confirmed that they are working on a display that will receive Apple’s first foldable laptop, scheduled for 2025. This is reported by the Korean edition of The Elec.

Media journalists got acquainted with the report of the director of Samsung Display, Baek Seung-in, in which the head of the corporation spoke about the work on folding screens. The top manager noted that the company’s priority remains the creation of durable large-size folding displays.

Baek Seung-in emphasized that the industry is interested in producing screens ranging from 20.5 to 25 inches. According to The Elec experts, in this way Samsung, one of whose important customers is Apple, hinted at the development of a display for the first folding MacBook.

According to insiders, the folding screen of the Apple laptop will have a diagonal of 13 inches when folded, and 20.5 inches when unfolded. The device may be announced in 2025. Sources said that now the company is engaged in obtaining patents for technologies used in the creation of a computer.

In mid-July, insiders reported that Apple had begun work on a portable computer with a folding screen. The corporation’s partners Samsung Display and LG Display are interested in the production of such a device.
