The Russians called a way to protect your smartphone when using a VPN

The Russians were told that when using a VPN it is not recommended to enter logins and passwords

Using VPNs increases the risk of data breaches, so it’s important to know how to protect your device. Vitaly Fomin, an expert on information security of the League of Digital Economy, spoke about this in an interview with Gazeta.Ru.

According to Fomin, VPN networks do not provide additional privacy or anonymity – data is transferred from a regular provider to the owner of the server. Therefore, the user needs to be prepared that third parties can receive personal information. With the VPN turned on, it is not recommended to enter logins and passwords, bank card data, the specialist warned.

In addition, the expert warned that when downloading a VPN service, it is worth clarifying the number of installations – if it has been downloaded less than a thousand times, it is better to avoid installation.

Earlier, the Russians were also told that attackers can use wireless data transfer technology, including Apple AirDrop. Smartphone owners have been urged not to enable this feature in public places.
