The operator wanted to erect a 27-meter mast on a plot of land that he had leased from a private owner. The inhabitants of Krzeptówka, who feared that the installation would have a negative impact on their health, spoke against this investment.
Buried. T-Mobile wanted to put up a mast, the highlanders were against
Residents formed a protest committee and collected over 130 signatures from people opposing the construction of the mast. What’s more, they also blocked the access to the plot where the investment was to be built. T-Mobile received a negative opinion on the construction of the mast from the staroste. Officials notified the operator that the planned mast was not a temporary structure that could be dismantled after 180 days.
On the other hand, the Zakopane city office indicated that the installation would be built on a plot covered by the Cultural Park of the Zakopiańska Valley, which prohibits the erection of such objects. Although T-Mobile did not receive permission to build the mast, residents “guarded” the area until July 13, when an external company finally came and took the construction.
T-Mobile could not put up the mast. The operator commented
“After three weeks of fighting, we finally managed to get the mast that was supposed to stand in the vicinity of our houses out of Zakopane. We are glad that it happened. We hope that the mobile company will no longer try to put it in this place” – said Karolina Gąsienica-Sieczka, a resident of Krzeptówki in an interview with “Gazeta Krakowska”. However, the operator T-Mobile announced that it will not stop looking for ways to expand the network in this region and will “analyze various scenarios and solutions that will be satisfactory for all stakeholders.”
