Former presidents Mauricio Funes (2009-2014) and Salvador Sánchez Ceren (2014-2019) were included this Wednesday in the list of corrupt and undemocratic actors in the United States.
In total there are 39 new people on the Angel list. Prominent politicians and senior officials from Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua are also on the list.
Among those designated by the US is Guatemalan prosecutor Cinthia Monterroso, who charged journalist José Rubén Zamora Marroquín with blackmail, illicit contact and money laundering, for which he had sought a 40-year prison sentence. Also in attendance were Guatemalan judges Fredy Raul Orellana Letona and Jimi Rodolfo Bremer Ramírez and Honduras Liberal Party leaders Alexander López Orellana, Samuel García Salgado and Yani Benjamín Rosenthal Hidalgo.

In addition, the State Department in Nicaragua has listed current Attorney General Wendy Carolina Morales Urbina; the Vice-Presidents of the National Assembly Arling Patricia Alonso Gómez and Gladis de los Ángeles Báez and the Justices Rosa Argentina Solís Dávila and Ángela Dávila Navarrete.
The persons on the list are refused entry to the US and cannot obtain a visa to travel to this country.
