Last week, the USCIS — United States Citizenship and Immigration Services — reported the expansion of the myProgress service (formerly known as personalized processing times) to Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization and Form I-131, Travel Document Request.
What is myProgress?
“Foreigners who apply for a work permit or a work permit at the immigration office now receive personalized information about the process,” Univisión reports.
It will also be obtained by those who “manage an authorization or travel document abroad so that they can re-enter the United States without difficulty.”
On the USCIS site, they point out that myProgress gives applicants access to specific wait time estimates for the key stages of their case, including the final decision, through their own online accounts.
This is the US visa for transferee workers that allows a stay of up to seven years
The times?
Jaime Barrón, an immigration lawyer who practices in Dallas, Texas, spoke on behalf of Univisión.
myProgress is progress, but it does not guarantee that agency deadlines will be met in all cases.
Jaime Barron, attorney
“It is progress so that there is better communication between the government and applicants for work permits and travel permits. At the same time, it makes people more aware and realistic that the government will do its best to provide them with the benefits they ask for, but the volume, the backlog of cases exceeds USCIS’ capacity to respond.
The same USCIS on its page notes: While these estimates are based on historical patterns of cases with specific details similar to your case, they are not a guarantee of speed, they cannot account for all possible unique application delays, and it may underestimate or overestimate the actual processing time.
Who benefits from myProgress?
El Nuevo Herald explained on July 13, 2023 that myProgress is a service available to applicants with an online USCIS account who submit the following petitions:
Do you know the re-entry permit? The document that allows you to travel outside the United States with more freedom if you are a resident

To know the processing times of cases
The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services has reported what you need to do to view processing time estimates of cases:
But there’s more… plaintiffs “have yet to go through Time Processing) to determine eligibility for a service investigation for a case that falls outside of normal processing times”
