A family, originally from Mexico, traveled to that country and rented a helicopter from “the Manang Air company to see the highest mountain in the world”.
However, as they flew over the area, the plane crashed to the ground, killing the five family members and the pilot.
The helicopter, the AFP bureau reported, took off from Surke, near Lukla in the Everest region at around 10:04 am towards Nepal’s capital Kathmandu, but contact was lost between 8 and 10 minutes after takeoff, Tuesday morning. July 11.

The couple was identified as Ismael Sifuentes Rincón and Luz González Olacio. They were the parents of Fernando, María José and Abril Sifuentes, Infobae indicated, noting that they were from the state of Nuevo León.

They traveled more than 14,000 kilometers to reach India and from there they went to Nepal, Infobae stressed.
Ismael Sifuentes, according to journalist Javier Garza Ramos, “was originally from San Pedro, Coahuila, and a businessman in Monterrey.”
Abril Sifuentes was learned to have a passion for hiking and the “wonders of the world” and was a family doctor, according to a National Institute of Cancerology publication.

The damaged helicopter was located by local residents of Likhu Pike municipality, the area’s vice president Nwang Lhakpa Sherpa told EFE.
