Article 1 of the Implementing Decree No. 112 states: “The Temporary Protection Permit is created, to which all foreigners, regardless of their nationality, who reside irregularly on the national territory at the time of entry into force of this Implementing Decree and for a period of not less than one (1) year, without having started the immigration process, as a Temporary Protection Immigration Status in the Republic of Panama”.

The Temporary Protection Permit can be applied for from 17 July 2023 to 19 July 2024

Requirements to apply for the Temporary Protection Permit in Panama

Article 2 of the aforementioned decree sets out the requirements to be met by foreign nationals interested in applying for the temporary protection permit,

This executive order comes into effect the day after its promulgation, signed by the Panamanian President, Laurentino Cortizo, and the Minister of Public Security, Juan Manuel Pino.
