The new mCitizen is already lying down. People liked the application so much that you won’t even add an ID

The mObywatel 2.0 application has been announced for several weeks. The digitization ministry boasts that this is a real digital revolution, because now – according to the law – we can use a smartphone with an app as an equivalent of an ID card. If we do not have a plastic version of the document with us, mObywatel is supposed to replace it in (almost) every situation. As announced, the application started at night from Thursday to Friday.

mObywatel 2.0 started at night. But in the morning it wasn’t working anymore

Shortly after midnight, Janusz Cieszyński boasted about the operation of the new mObywatel 2.0. The head of the Ministry of Digitization tweeted a screenshot showing that the app is already displaying a digital ID card. Apparently, Cieszyński was luckier than us, the new mObywatel stopped working in the morning. Central Information Technology Center at 9:13 informed about possible problems with the operation of the service due to the high interest of users.

Due to the great interest in mObywatel, some users experienced technical problems in the operation of the application. We are working to solve them as soon as possible!

We checked and at the time of writing this article (12:15) the app is unable to display the digital ID. Although we are able to normally download the program from Google Play (or update to the version just released) and log in to it, but every attempt to open or add a digital ID card ends with a message about a problem with the Internet connection – “Connection error. Check if you have internet, please try again. Most importantly, the government technicians have still not dealt with the problem and the tests of the new app of the Ministry of Digitization will have to wait a while.
