More layoffs at Microsoft. Hundreds of people will lose their jobs

This time, as reported a Microsoft spokesman declined to provide a specific number of employees being made redundant. He only confirmed that the company intends to lay off 276 people in Washington state alone. 66 of them are remote workers. “Organizational and personnel changes are a necessary and permanent part of managing our business. Not only does it slow down Microsoft. Huge job cuts on Google and Meta

According to TechCrunch data, over 190,000 people lost their jobs from January to May 2023 alone. Bartłomiej Pawlak from Next.gazeta.pl wrote about the reasons for this in early June:

“Even during the pandemic, the same companies were hiring new employees en masse, despite the fact that the general trend in other industries was completely opposite. (…) Companies were employing people to the power, experiencing a large demand for technology. (…) Now we are seeing the effect in entering more difficult times, after a period of development favorable for the industry in the pandemic, as the economic environment is difficult and companies naturally look for ways to cut costs.
