Samsung delays XR glasses due to Apple Reality Pro announcement
The South Korean corporation Samsung decided not to release virtual and mixed reality glasses at the beginning of 2024. This is reported by SamMobile.
According to Korean sources, the company decided to postpone the release of XR glasses, a device that works with virtual and augmented reality. The reason for this decision was the announcement of Apple headset Vision Pro, with which the device from Samsung will compete. Experts noted that the corporation will send the gadget for revision, including to install screens with a higher resolution.
Also, the company’s engineers intend to improve the software for the Samsung XR. “Samsung wants to release a better product to compete with the Apple Vision Pro,” sources at the corporation said. So, if the announcement of the headset was scheduled for February and was supposed to coincide with the presentation of the Galaxy flagships, now the deadlines have been moved to the middle of the year.
Earlier, SamMobile journalists found out that Samsung planned to develop new wearable devices. So, the corporation has registered several trademarks related to smart glasses, headsets and rings.
