Meta Verified, a package of additional functions for Facebook and Instagram Now, however, goes to Poland, which means that we have learned the full range of benefits and the subscription price. If Twitter Blue is expensive, Meta has just gone off the charts.
Paid Facebook in Poland. There’s a stamp straight from Twitter
As the Californian company boasts, the subscription is to help “exist on Instagram and Facebook” thanks to additional functions that users of free versions of Mark Zuckerberg’s services will not receive. The first of these functions is account verification, which is done “on the basis of an official identity document”. In other words, you will need to send Facebook a scan of your ID or passport. Verified users will receive special blue badges next to their name, which are a copy of Twitter’s long-standing verification tags. They will also be able to count on an increased reach of their comments.
In addition, Meta Verified is “exclusive features” on Facebook and Instagram – including extra stickers in Stories and Reels that others won’t get. Paid users will also be able to count on “prophylactic account protection”. This is about monitoring the social network for profiles that could impersonate or somehow harm the paying profile. In addition, subscribers will be able to contact a Meta employee directly should they need assistance. Meta Verified is currently available only to private individuals and only adults (in Poland it is enough to be over 18). It is not known when the version for companies present on Facebook will start.
Meta Verified prices are literally knocking you off your feet
The range of benefits offered by Meta Verified seems quite poor. Especially compared to the similar service that Elon Musk launched earlier on Twitter. Unfortunately, the price that Mark Zuckerberg each pays for a subscription seems completely out of touch with reality. When buying a package in the browser, we will pay PLN 65, and PLN 80 per month in the iOS and Android application. So it is much more expensive than in the USA, where the service costs USD 11.99 (PLN 49.42) and USD 14.99 (PLN 61.78), respectively. It is puzzling that Meta decided that Poles could afford to pay a few dollars more than Americans.
Compared to the competition, the price is also cosmic. Twitter Blue on Elon Musk’s platform costs PLN 36 per month or PLN 474.99 per year (via a browser). The application is of course more expensive – PLN 49 per month or PLN 514.99 per year. Meta Verified is even more expensive than the most expensive Netflix, which is also famous for its exorbitant prices – the cheapest subscription on this platform costs PLN 29, the intermediate PLN 43, and the most expensive PLN 60.
