We all sent a quick message WhatsApponly to find out that it is full of errors. But those days are over, because WhatsApp allows you to edit all those messages that have a spelling mistake or just didn’t understand something. The feature is now available to all users worldwide at iOS And android.
The Meta messaging app has launched the Edit button. “For times when you make a mistake or just change your mind, it’s now possible to edit sent messages,” WhatsApp said in a blog post.
However, there is a big catch: it is only possible to change your message up to 15 minutes after sending, once this time is over it is impossible to change it.
How do you do that?
“Just long-press on the sent message and choose “Edit” from the menu. You have a maximum of fifteen minutes to do this. The edited messages will show the status “edited” so that the recipients are aware of the correction, but they will not be able to see the history of the changes,” the application’s blog describes.
This option is available both in the mobile version of the messaging platform and in WhatsApp Web. However, you can only edit the text from the same device that sent the message. This is how WhatsApp hopes to avoid confusion or security breaches, since another person who has access to a user’s account on another device cannot edit the message without the user’s knowledge.
