Before next July 5, Ecuadorian Kristel Candelario will have a new hearing following the five charges brought against her following the death of her 16-month-old daughter, Jaylín.
Candelario allegedly left the minor without anyone’s care for 10 days while she traveled to Detroit, Puerto Rico and Michigan for 10 days.
The situation became known on June 16, according to a police report, when they received an alert of unknown problems and revealed that a 16-month-old girl had been pronounced dead.
The Ecuadorian is being charged with abandoning a baby and causing his death in the United States
“Members of the Homicide Unit responded to the investigation protocol in all incidents involving the death of children. No signs of trauma were observed. The girl was transported to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office for further examination and investigation. Subsequent investigations revealed that the girl was left alone and unattended for about 10 days and then died.”it was detailed.
A day later, Candelario was arrested and charged with murder.
The Ecuadorian is currently in Cuyahoga County Jail and last Thursday had a hearing before a local judge, where Candelario pleaded not guilty.
The charges against him are two for murder, one for criminal assault, another for aggravated murder and one for endangering a minor.
According to Telemundo, the Ecuadorian will be psychologically evaluated until she has to face another hearing where she can reach a plea agreement or be given a trial date against her.
Bail was set at one million dollars.
