At least 48 people died in a traffic accident on Friday evening. when a truck collided with several vehicles on a road in the western Kenyan town of Londiani Junction.
The accident happened around 7 p.m. (local time). According to local media, the driver of a truck lost control and rammed several passenger cars and motorcycles. The truck ended up in a ditchdetailed Everyday Nation.

Kenyan President William Ruto sent his condolences to the families of the victims via his Twitter account.
“The country is in mourning for the families who lost their loved ones in a terrible road accident in Londiani. It is painful that some of the fatalities are young people with promising futures and businessmen going about their daily business,” the president said.
“We pray for a speedy recovery for all survivors.; They are in our thoughts. We are urging motorists to be more careful on the road, especially now that we are dealing with heavy rainfall,” Ruto added.
