iCreate: Apple decided on names for new smartphones at the last moment
Apple decided on the names of new smartphones at the last moment. This was reported by the authors of the Dutch blog iCreate.
The blog journalists studied the Apple website for the Netherlands and drew attention to the images of smartphones. According to the authors, some of the files illustrating the iPhone 14 Plus are signed as iPhone 14 Max. The material says that the confusion caused is most likely due to the fact that Apple decided on the name of new smartphones “at the last minute” – the old names did not have time to change.
The blog clarifies that the name iPhone 14 Max is found in several sections of the site. So, if you download an image of a new phone to your computer, the file will be signed as iPhone-14-max-colors. Enthusiasts noticed that the documents on the site also contain the iPhone 14 Max model, which has the identifier A2886. As it turned out, the same identifier belongs to the iPhone 14 Plus device.
A few months before Apple’s presentation, insiders reported that the company should announce a new 6.7-inch smartphone, which should be called 14 Max. In June, the authors of the Naver blog said that the company renamed the device to the iPhone 14 Plus so that consumers would not confuse the device with the flagship iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Apple held an autumn presentation on September 7th. The line of presented smartphones includes the iPhone 14, 14 Max, 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max models.
