Fighters of the Russian paramilitary group Wagner withdraw from the Voronezh regionbordering Ukraine, the day after boss Yevgeny Prigozhin decided to end an uprising seeking to advance to Moscow, local authorities said on Sunday.

“Units of the Wagner paramilitary group are finalizing their withdrawal from the territory of the Voronezh region,” local governor Alexander Gusev wrote on Telegram, assuring that everything is going “without incident.”

Wagner’s men withdrew Saturday evening from Rostov (southwest), where they had taken control of the headquartersthe nerve center of Russian operations in Ukraine, following negotiations between Prigozhin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

According to the Russian presidency, Prigozhin will go to Belarus, without it being known on Sunday when he will leave Russia. Nor has it been disclosed where the head of the militia is currently located.
