Apple refused to increase the production of iPhone 14 series smartphones, Bloomberg reports.

Two people familiar with the situation, on condition of anonymity, told the agency that Apple will not increase the production of smartphones. Previously, the company planned to produce more new devices, but after the release of the iPhone 14 series devices and falling demand, they abandoned this idea.

According to experts, in the second half of the year, Tim Cook’s company intends to produce about 90 million devices. Previously, the corporation believed that it would be reasonable to produce at least 96 million units of smartphones. Agency insiders also said that the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max are more popular than the iPhone 14.

Bloomberg analysts noted that the decline in demand for the iPhone 14 series is due to rising inflation and the situation in Ukraine. Also, the Chinese technology market, which is considered one of the largest in the world, is currently experiencing a recession. So, in the first three days after the release of new Apple smartphones, the company sold 11 percent fewer devices than iPhone 13 devices over the same period last year.

Earlier, reputable insider Ming Chi Ko said that Apple increased production of the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max by about 10 percent. At the same time, the production of the basic iPhone 14, which is not very popular, was reduced.
