Jack Teixeira, the young American soldier accused of leaking top secret documents from the Pentagon in an online chat forum, he pleaded not guilty to charges on Wednesday that could send you to prison for decades. Air National Guard computer specialist 21 years oldwas arrested in April for allegedly orchestrating the most serious leak of classified US documents in a decade.
He faces six counts of withholding and transmission of national defense information. Each of them carries sentences of up to 10 years in prison. Teixeira appeared before Judge David Hennessy in Worcester, Massachusetts, on Wednesday pleaded not guilty to each of the chargesaccording to court documents.

His lawyer asked to release Teixeira pending trial, but the judge denied the request. Teixeira is suspected of posting the documents, some of which date back to early March, on a Discord forum.
The documents, which were quickly circulated online, hinted at US concernsr Ukraine’s military capability against invading Russian forces and showed Washington apparently he had spied on his allies Israel and South Korea, among others.
It was the biggest leak since 2013, when Edward Snowden leaked National Security Agency documents.
