In recent days, a rescue operation has been carried out following the disappearance of a submarine that was on an expedition to observe the remains of the famous Titanic ship.
Sunk in 1912, the story of the ship became popular in the late last century thanks to James Cameron’s movie that told a love story on the boat that culminated in its sinking by an iceberg.
A new theory emerges about the sinking of the Titanic
This is the theory accepted by much of the population, but in recent years new hypotheses have been raised about what could have happened to the great ship.
In 2017, The Independent newspaper indicated that several experts suggested that the cause of the shipwreck was due to a fire that formed on the ship for three weeks before it hit an iceberg.
Through an analysis of photographs of the ship before it left the shipyard in Belfast (Ireland), it was possible to observe black markings nine meters long on the front right side of the hull, detailed daily clarion.
The marks – which are just behind where the iceberg hit the Titanic – appear to have been caused by a fire that may have started in a fuel tank near the boilers. A group of men tried to extinguish the flames, but they became uncontrollable. The fire would have weakened the steel.
Bruce Ismay, president and director of White Star Line, the company that built the Titanic, allegedly forced the officers on board not to report the incident to passengers.
It has also been suggested through various forums that the company was not actually building a new ship, but rather modified one of its previous ships, known as the Olympic, and attempted to collect an insurance policy when it sank.
While others point out that the intention of the owner of the company was to sink the ship with his enemies.
