It is not the first time that the submarine has disappeared. The Titan carrying five people that disappeared 12,500 feet below the Atlantic has been lost before, a video reveals the transport lost communication for two and a half hours.
This Monday, the reporter of CBS Sunday Morning David Pogue shared his experience after the US and Canadian Coast Guards began searching for a missing OceanGate Expeditions ship.

“Sub also lost a few hours last summer when he was on board…” he said on Twitter.
Pogue revealed that he made the $250,000 per person trip last year, but his experience it was affected by bad weather and communication problems on the submarine. It appears that history is repeating itself as the company reported that the submarine with five passengers disappeared after departing at 4am on Sunday morning.
To those passengers, including British billionaire Hamish Harding, CEO of Action Aviation in Dubai, now they have just over 70 hours of oxygen left.
Pogue reported that his trip was delayed by several days that year due to bad weather. Finally, after six days on the Titan, they made their final descent to the site, but the communications system failed. “There’s no underwater GPS, so the surface ship would have to guide us by sending text messages,” Pogue said in November 2022. never found.”
Fortunately, no one was injured at the time and footage showed the passengers being returned. The company said it would offer passengers aboard that trip a “free repeat” in the summer. It’s not clear if any of those explorers made their free trip when the submarine went missing on Sunday.
Authorities are now looking for OceanGate’s titanium and carbon fiber ship named Titan. It is believed to have departed St Johns, Newfoundland on Saturday, while the submarine was launched around 4 a.m. on Sunday.
In a statement, OceanGate said: “We are exploring and mobilizing all options to return the crew safely. Our entire focus is on the underwater crew members and their families. We are working for the safe return of the crew members.”
